Fly, Fly Butterfly!

For Bean's birthday (yes, that was back in March!) he got a butterfly net and kit. We FINALLY ordered the caterpillars and got started a few weeks ago!!! The caterpillars were very cool and it was fun to watch them eat and form the cocoons. We (I) had to transfer the delicate cocoons to our net once ready and then we waited for our butterflies! It was SO exciting the morning we woke up to see a butterfly in our net! ...and then each morning after that until we had 5 butterflies!!! The kids loved it! We kept them in our net for a few days and fed them fresh flowers and fruit every morning. Then it was time to let them go...they were some happy butterflies when we took them outside! One stayed on Bean's finger for just a few seconds before flying away...so cool!!!
